On Friday (Good Friday), 25 Mar 2005, Steven Fodstad and about 420 other basic trainees graduated from the US Air Force's Basic Training course at Lackland Air Force Base outside of San Antonio, Texas. The purpose of this page is to document that event and that weekend.

Steven attended Basic Training from 2 Feb 2005 to 25 Mar 2005. He was in Flight 178 of the 322nd Training Squadron of the 737th Training Group of the 37th Training Wing.

On Saturday, 26 Mar 2005 the new Airmen received a Town Pass. Like most families, the Fodstads headed for the Alamo and the Riverwalk, both located in downtown San Antonio.

Sunday, 27 Mar 2005 was departure time for the families and it was also Easter. A Sunrise (Sonrise!) Easter service was held. It was cold and very windy so the good idea to have the children release butterflies was a disaster. Some died and the rest refused to fly!

As the family pulled away for the last time, as shot was taken of one of the walkway/arches that welcomed us each day.
